a review

this time i will show the things most part from a review "Steve Mass"

He is the authod of "microwave mixer" and "Nonlinear Microwave and RF Circuits"

some useful words in this review i'd rather to leave here as followed.

Here is an incomplete list of the skills i think engineers should cultivate. Most engineers don'tpossess these abilities, but 1 still think they're essential:

1. Communication skills are is important as technicalskills. Your technical work is worthless if you can'tcommunicate it effectively, clearly, and conVincingly toothers.

2. An apprectauon of history, especially the history oftechnology, to put one's work in perspective. 1 regularlysee people putting huge effort into work that willnever be used, because it does not fit into naturalhistorical progression of technology.

3. A basic understanding of economics.. I've heardengineering described as the ability to .do for onedollar what any fool can do for five dollars. That's anoversimplification, but it contains an element of truth.

4. :appreciation of the arts and literature. Wbat wedo is fundamcnullv no different from what artists, wrtrers. and musicians do; only the tools and apphcalionsare different We all create, we all solve problems.

there are also some other interesting spell here.

I'd say that about 20% of the submitted papers aredreadful, 20% are high-class publications of valid, careful, ongoing research. The world could surviveadmirably without the remaining 60%. Most of thelatter are from academics whose main reason forsubmitting the paper is to "get a publication" to addto their publication lists, not fundamentally to reportresearch results. Most of these papers are about 80%old news. It gives me the mental picture of convolutionintegral: shift the information axis 20% and integrateover the whole thing. Viola! A paper! You may have noticed that I don't publish a lot. Iusually keep my mouth shut until I have somethinguseful to say. I apply this rule to committee meetings, too. 1 wish more people did.

This is the first time that I hear such a principle of publishing papers. If we can implement it in this way, it will be much easier for us to do literature review. Cheers! Fightling ~!~
